Getting to Berkeley Lab
Driving: If you are driving and need to park you will receive a temporary parking permit prior to the event. Be aware that parking at LBNL is extremely limited. If you plan to drive and park near the meeting venue, please arrive by 8:30am. If you arrive later, we recommend entering Berkeley Lab through Strawberry Gate, parking near the Molecular Foundry, and walking or taking the Lab shuttle to Building 50 for the meeting.

Public Transport: To get to the meeting from either OAK or SFO airports, take the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) from the airport to the Downtown Berkeley BART stop. To access the LBNL shuttle from BART, exit the Downtown Berkeley stop, go up the stairs to street level, and head across Shattuck Avenue toward the Bank of America. The Berkeley Lab Shuttle Stop is on the east side of Shattuck Avenue just north of Center Street–in front of Arinell’s Pizza and Sandwich Zone. The Blue shuttle will take you to the meeting site, Building 50.

Taxi: Taxis are available at both local airports. Approximate costs to LBNL are $75 from SFO or from $60 from OAK.
Private Shuttle Service: Local shuttle services are available for both SFO and OAK, and can be found by searching on “bay area airport shuttle.” Advance reservations are recommended.
Lodging
A limited number of rooms are available at the Berkeley Lab Guest House, located a few minutes walk from the conference venue. To reserve one of these rooms, contact Tina McCoy (tmccoy@lbl.gov, 510-486-7493). You may also make a reservation directly with the hotel of your choice. A number of hotels are located relatively nearby in Berkeley. Lab shuttles to the meeting site are available from downtown Berkeley (see transport section above for more details).
